What did you want to be when you grew up? Me? I wanted to be a dancer. Ballet. Flamenco. Indian classical dance. I loved it all.
I grew up with Bollywood cinema and dreamt of becoming a siren of the big screen (even though I don’t speak any Indian languages lol). Becoming a pro dancer sadly wasn’t on the cards for me, but it’s still a passion of mine and it’s really where I come alive. Maybe now that I’m running my own business, I’ll have more time to devote to this hobby!
Why I started So You Don’t Have To
After a stressful and unfulfilling few years in investment banking early in my career (which pretty much sucked the life out of me), I transitioned into the world of corporate fundraising and then community investment. It was a better fit – the work fed my soul – but I still didn’t have control of my own time and life-work balance.
Life kept doing its thing, hurling unexpected curve balls in every direction. I became unwell for a time and it took me years to put myself back together. Losing my mum suddenly and in unexpected circumstances hit me hard, and I don’t know that the grief will ever really go away.
Like for many, the pandemic was a huge turning point, and I knew that a new career was on the horizon.
When I decided to build my own business, it wasn’t just about financial freedom or flexibility. I wanted to be master of my own destiny, to create something I could be proud of and to work with people who dream BIG.
Today, I use my expertise as an Online Operations & Business Manager to help Founders step back into the leadership role they were meant for.
